African Designers Shine at Africa Fashion Up 2024

Five designers from across Africa were celebrated at this year’s Africa Fashion Up competition. The winners, who come from Ivory Coast, South Africa, Senegal, and Mali, will receive professional guidance, participate in a Paris fashion show in June, and display their work at a pop-up store in Galeries Lafayette.

According to Africa News Agency, The 2024 Africa Fashion Up winners are Ivorian designer Kader Diaby, Moroccan designer Mohamed Youss, South African designer Gugu Peteni, Senegalese-Mauritanian designer Kadiata Diallo, and South African designer Rich Mnisi. These talented individuals will participate in a week-long training program in Paris later in June, which includes masterclasses, visits to haute couture houses, and a session on management and international commerce by HEC Paris. Additionally, they will benefit from a four-month mentoring program with Balenciaga, aimed at enhancing their skills and expanding their international presence.
