Eros Girls’ School Hostel Renovated by Footsteps For Africa

Windhoek - Footsteps For Africa, a non-profit organization, has officially completed the renovation of the Eros Girls' School hostel in Windhoek. The project, costing N.dollars 1 million, was unveiled by the organization's founder, Austin Cameron, in a ceremony held on Friday.

According to Namibia Press Agency, the country representative for Footsteps For Africa, the idea for the renovation emerged after a visit to the school in January. The organization then initiated a donor call, leading to the successful funding of the project. The renovation, which began in November 2023, represents the first phase of Footsteps For Africa's commitment to enhancing the school's facilities.

Andima highlighted the organization's ongoing efforts to improve the learning environment at Eros Girls' School. She indicated that further improvements are being planned as part of their continuous support to the educational institution.

Sanet Steenkamp, the Executive Director in the Ministry of Education, Arts and Culture, attended the ceremony and expressed her deep gratitude for the work done by Footsteps For Africa. She noted the significant impact the renovated hostel will have on the lives of the young girls at the school.

Steenkamp also commended resource schools like Eros Girls' School for their unique contributions to education. She encouraged other schools to emulate their approach and applauded the collaborative effort that led to the successful completion of the project.

The renovation marks a significant milestone in the provision of quality education facilities in Windhoek, with Footsteps For Africa playing a pivotal role in supporting the educational needs of young girls in the region.
