Addis Ababa: the High Level Diaspora Diplomacy Advisory Council was officially established today, marking a significant step towards enhancing the involvement of the Ethiopian diaspora in the country's development efforts. This development occurred during the High Level Ethiopian Diaspora Diplomacy Forum, which was hosted at the National Science Museum.

According to Ethiopian News Agency, the forum served as a platform for discussing the achievements, challenges, and future roles of the diaspora in Ethiopia's development. The forum, part of the ongoing Diplomacy Week, focused on increasing the diaspora's participation and contribution to national affairs.

The event was attended by key figures, including Ambassador Misganu Arga, the State Minister of Tourism Lensa Mekonnen, Ethiopian ambassadors, heads of missions abroad, members of the diaspora, and other invited guests. Ambassador Arga highlighted the significant contributions of the diaspora in terms of national development and remittance, emphasizing the need to escalate their engagement further.

The government's commitment to strengthen diaspora participation was underscored, with plans to enhance their contribution in knowledge and technology transfer, as well as tapping into their potential for development. The engagement of the Ethiopian diaspora in various national activities is set to be intensified.

Ambassador Mesganu expressed gratitude to Ethiopians living abroad for their dedication to supporting the country's transformation efforts. He emphasized the importance of working together to build the nation and protect its national interests. The Ambassador called on diaspora communities to bolster their efforts for the country's benefit.

Mohammed Endris, the Director General of the Ethiopian Diaspora Service, stated that the forum aimed to explore conditions that could bolster the diaspora's engagement in Ethiopia's developmental endeavors.
