Greenside High School Triumphs in Youth Water Awareness Competition

JOHANNESBURG - Greenside High School achieved notable success in the recent National South African Youth Water Prize competition, securing both first and third places. The competition, part of the Water and Sanitation Education Programme, aims to engage learners in addressing water resource management challenges through inventive projects.

According to South African Government News Agency, the second place was awarded to Good Hope Secondary School, which presented an awareness project and received a R5000 prize and a trophy. Greenside's third-place project also focused on raising awareness and secured a R4000 prize. The competition's significance was highlighted by the active participation and the innovative solutions proposed by students, reflecting the urgent need for sustainable water management practices.
