Mangaung Metro Enhances Community Support through Police Partnerships

BLOEMFONTEIN — In a recent address on the priorities for the Seventh Administration, the Minister of Police, Mr. Senzo Mchunu, highlighted the necessity for the South African Police Service (SAPS) to forge robust partnerships with various sectoral organizations to effectively combat crime and address social issues in the Mangaung Metro area.

According to South African Police Service, The Minister emphasized the importance of collaboration with organizations focused on protecting the rights of women and children, as well as non-governmental organizations dedicated to fighting crime. In line with this initiative, representatives from the Bainsvlei Police Station, South African Police Union, and the humanitarian group Gift of the Givers gathered at the old police station premises in Abrahamskraal Street to continue Mandela Month Celebrations.

During the event, three families with disabled members in the Bainsvlei area were identified by Lt Col Keamogetse Makobo. In a collaborative effort, the three entities provided specially designed wheelchairs, including one with a recliner facility and a table for meals. The recipients, Benjamin Koen, Puleng Jao, and Keneiloe Ntshioa, were visibly moved by the support, with their families expressing profound gratitude for the life-enhancing gifts. Clifford Mabe from Gift of the Givers remarked on the enduring nature of this partnership, indicating a long-term commitment to the community.
