JOHANNESBURG — The Electoral Commission of South Africa (IEC) has successfully processed over 97% of votes for the 2024 National and Provincial Elections. As of 8:20 am on Saturday, the results dashboard indicated significant leads among the major political parties.
According to South African Government News Agency, the African National Congress (ANC) is currently leading with 40.11% of the vote, followed by the Democratic Alliance (DA) with 21.72%. The uMkhonto we Sizwe (MK Party) holds third place with 14.83%, and the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) are in fourth with 9.37%. The remaining top ten parties include the Inkatha Freedom Party, Patriotic Alliance, Freedom Front Plus, Action SA, African Christian Democratic Party, and United Democratic Movement, showcasing a diverse political landscape as the final votes continue to be captured and validated.
