Provincial Custody and Exhibit Management Session Held in ZF Mgcawu District

KIMBERLEY — The ZF Mgcawu District hosted a Provincial Custody and Exhibit Management session at the Sandile Present Library in Upington on Wednesday, July 10, 2024. The session focused on improving the management and authenticity of police custody and exhibits.

According to the South African Police Service, The session was opened with a devotion and prayer by Pastor Leonardo Titus from Spiritual Crime Prevention and was presided over by Brigadier Irene Kopeledi, the Provincial Head of Pro-Active Policing, under the guidance of Major General Luntu Ngubelanga, the Deputy Provincial Commissioner for Policing. Notable attendees included Brigadier Monica Sebili, the Acting District Commissioner of ZFM, who welcomed the participants. The meeting included presentations by the South African Reserve Bank’s Currency Management Department on currency authenticity, highlighting recent issues with counterfeit currency in the district.

Major General Ngubelanga emphasized the importance of maintaining integrity within the police force and encouraged commanders to take responsibility for their commands. He urged the adoption of a "back to basics" principle, focusing on core police duties and responsibilities. The session also included detailed presentations on exhibit safeguarding and custody management by various departmental heads.
