Sandton: In a concerted effort to enhance economic integration across the continent, South Africa's Department of Trade, Industry and Competition (dtic), in collaboration with the Industrial Development Corporation (IDC), will host a workshop focused on the African Continental Free Trade Agreement (AfCFTA). Set to take place at the IDC Auditorium in Sandton, the workshop aims to brief Special Economic Zones (SEZ) operators and businesses on the multifaceted benefits of the AfCFTA. According to Ambassador Xolelwa Mlumbi-Peter, Deputy Director-General of Trade at the dtic, this initiative is designed to highlight the export opportunities and advantages available under the AfCFTA for SEZ managers, investors, and tenants. The event will cover a range of topics, including customs requirements, quality standards, and export finance insurance solutions, intending to fortify South Africa's position within the continental trade landscape and encourage the production and exportation of value-added manufactured products .
