Addis Ababa, Ethiopia – UNESCO International Bureau of Education (UNESCO-IBE) has pledged its support to assist Ethiopia’s Ministry of Education in reforming the curriculum and improving the educational system.
At the 42nd session of the General Conference of UNESCO in Paris, Education Minister and UNESCO National Commission President, Professor Berhanu Nega, met with UNESCO-IBE Board President, Svein Osttveit. During the meeting, Professor Berhanu discussed the Ministry’s current efforts in restructuring the educational framework, with a particular focus on the curriculum review process.
According to Ethiopian News Agency, Professor Berhanu emphasized Ethiopia’s need for international expertise in these areas. UNESCO-IBE President Svein Osttveit commended the Ministry of Education’s commitment to restructuring the educational system and expressed readiness to provide assistance in the curriculum reform process and overall improvement of the educational system.
This support from UNESCO-IBE comes at a critical time as Ethiopia endeavors to strengthen its educational infrastructure and enhance the quality of education across the country.
